 Day 2/Thursday pt.2—

🥩”Now we got beef”

Later that day we had our very first Branch meeting. In this meeting we called our Zone Leaders and District Leaders.

But also….

We're taught some other things about *smacks the board* “STANDARDS”

Branch President Golden walked into the room with 10 min left of the meeting. At arms length he stood in front of me. His eyes locked onto my presence as if trying to intimidate me.

Why was he doing this? Because the topic of his little speech was about *Smacks Board Again* “Slang”

B.P.G🏅:”SO you no longer get to say bro. He is not your homie. The gospel isn't Dope. Etc.”

All while looking at me. I understand I use slang a lot, but while being here I have been trying to cut down on it to maintain my missionary standards. So calm down little boy (A 6’3” man).

He also mentioned these standards are written by prophets and we should not question them. Now comes the real beef.

I've brought my ukulele with me. My ukulele and my music are contributing factors in the way I've gained my testimony. They are how I feel God's love, how I remind myself of who I am. So, when the standard of, “No music in the residence hall (where we stay)” I was a little conflicted.

I finally know what Miguel from Coco feels like. To have this stripped away from me made me a little mad😡 The rule is not, “Play quietly or if your companion is okay with, or even if the FLOOR is okay with it” it's says “NONE”

I understand it can be distracting to others, but not even quietly, or if the people are cool with it!?

Am I supposed to just follow this rule blindly and not question it? I prayed for strength to get through it💪 Which I am currently doing, but I did shed some tears and punch my bed.

Elder Gilbert gave me a hug because that's what he had to offer🫂 I helped him get through his sadness that morning, so he wanted to return the favor💙 He’s not as trained as me in the art of making people feel better, but he has potential⛅️and it did truly help
